Las Vegas data center hardware upgrade for dedicated servers

Las Vegas data center hardware upgrade

Our Las Vegas data center is the oldest of our six locations and the site of our headquarters. We’ve been running dedicated servers and VPS hosting there for years. As part of our ongoing infrastructure improvements, we’re replacing legacy hardware with new Supermicro blade-style servers (MicroCloud and FatTwin platforms).

What’s changing

The new hardware is more power-efficient and denser, which lets us fit more dedicated servers into less rack space while using less power and generating less heat. For customers, this means better reliability and a more modern platform.

What this means for existing customers

We migrated dedicated server customers by moving their disks from the old chassis to the new blades. CPU and RAM were matched to what you had, unless you chose to upgrade. During the transition, customers had the option to upgrade to more cores, more RAM, DDR4, NVMe storage, or 10G networking at reduced prices.

We contacted each customer individually to schedule the migration and coordinate the brief downtime needed for the physical hardware swap.

Upgrades available

If you’re running an older dedicated server in Las Vegas and want to explore an upgrade, we can help. Options include:

  • CPU upgrades (more cores, higher clock speeds)
  • RAM upgrades (more capacity, DDR4)
  • Storage upgrades (Samsung SSD or NVMe)
  • Network upgrades (dual 10G)
