Managing DNS for your domains used to mean either running your own nameservers on your VPS (using BIND or similar) or signing up for a third-party DNS service. Both options have downsides. Running your own DNS means you need to maintain it, keep it patched, and if your server goes down, your DNS goes with it. Third-party DNS adds another vendor and another bill.
We’ve simplified this: every virtual server and bare metal dedicated server plan now includes free DNS hosting, managed directly from the Client Portal.
Why DNS matters
DNS translates your domain name into an IP address. It’s the first thing that happens when someone visits your website, sends you an email, or connects to your API. If your DNS is slow, every connection to your server starts with a delay. If your DNS is down, nothing works, even if your server is perfectly healthy. Good DNS is fast, reliable, and protected against attacks.
What our DNS hosting includes
DDoS-protected infrastructure: Your domain’s DNS runs on infrastructure with built-in DDoS protection. DNS amplification attacks (one of the most common DDoS vectors) target nameservers specifically. Our DNS infrastructure is designed to absorb these attacks without affecting resolution for your domains.
Anycast network: DNS queries are routed to the nearest nameserver using anycast. This means a user in Singapore gets their DNS answer from a nameserver nearby, not from a server in the US. Faster DNS resolution means faster time-to-first-byte for your website.
DNSSEC support: You can enable DNSSEC (DNS Security Extensions) to cryptographically sign your DNS records. DNSSEC prevents attackers from poisoning DNS caches or spoofing DNS responses. When your visitors look up your domain, they can verify the response hasn’t been tampered with.
Full record support: Manage A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, and other record types from the Client Portal. Point your domains at your VPS, dedicated server, WordPress site, or external services, all from one place.
How to set it up
Log into the Client Portal, navigate to DNS management, and add your domains. Update your domain registrar’s nameserver settings to point to ours. Once that propagates (usually within a few hours), your DNS is handled.
If you’ve been managing DNS elsewhere and want to consolidate everything in one portal alongside your VPS hosting and server management, this makes it straightforward.
No extra cost
Free DNS hosting is included at no extra charge with any active VPS or dedicated server plan. Contact us if you have questions about DNS configuration or migrating DNS records from another provider.
