A client came to us after spending heavily on AWS for a VMware ESXi platform. They needed high-RAM servers with large SSD storage, and the cloud bills were getting out of hand. We quoted a set of custom bare metal dedicated servers that delivered the same capacity at a fraction of the cost.
What we built
We customized our Supermicro BigTwin-based models to these specs:
- Dual Intel Xeon E5-2683v4 (32 cores / 64 vCPUs)
- 512 GB DDR4 RAM (16x 32 GB Samsung DDR4-2400)
- Dual 10G network interfaces
- 6x 3.84 TB Samsung SSD in RAID6 (14 TB usable)
- VMware ESXi pre-installed
We delivered four of these dedicated servers. The client migrated their workloads from AWS and got better performance, more control, and significantly lower monthly costs.
When custom makes sense
If you’re running a private cloud, a database cluster, or any workload that needs a lot of RAM and storage, the math often favors dedicated servers over public cloud. You get predictable pricing (no surprise bills), dedicated hardware (no noisy neighbors), and the ability to spec the machine exactly how you need it.
We can customize RAM, CPU, storage layout, RAID configuration, and networking on any of our dedicated server models. Contact our sales team for a quote.
